A History of the Fourth Provo Ward 1775-1858 by J.E. Booth (copied by the Brigham Young University Library, 1941) p. 26, 1853 On May the 9th, Issac Houston, James W. Preston,
and George Patten, residents of Mountainville, were declared
a corporation, probably the first corporation in the county by
the County Court; with the right to build a dragroad, allowing
a charge of ten cents a load. A strict account to be kept and
reported to the court, till the origianl cost was realized back.
The court was held at the residence of the clerk. |
