16 Aug 1827 Heckington, who m. Mary Ann Harker b. ca. 1830 Pointon,
d/o John Harker and Mary Proctor. They had a son, John Frederick
("Fred"), b. 15 Nov 1857, Swineshead, who m. Elizabeth
Nequest 24 Jun 1879, Hull, Yorks. John and Elizabeth had three
children born in Hull; Frederick, b. Jun 1880; Charles Henry,
b. 25 Apr 1882; Lillie, b. 23 Sep 1888. John left for Utah, USA
ca 1895 without his family and remarried in 1897. What happened
to his family in England? Cannot find any trace of them."

This enumeration district is West Jordan, the home of Joseph
Harker. According to this census, John Byron came to the U.S.
in 1895. He has been married to Ruth for 3 years and has two
daughters, Grace [b. June 1896] and Cora [b. May 1900]. John
rents a farm and has a servant who lives with them who came from
Hawii in 1897.
Joseph Harker was living in West Jordan when Byron arrived, although
he died in 1896. |
