 RELIGIOUS INFORMATION:

 BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION:

Stella is a twin sister to Della Curtis Preston. Their mother died in May of 1878, leaving the twins (19 months old) without a mother. It is believed that the above picture (see also PHOTO ALBUM) would have been taken within a few months of the death of their mother. Springville census records (June 1880) show that after the death of their father, Simmons, (April 1880), when they were 3 1/2 years old, the twins were living with their half-sister, Rhoda Potter Clyde in Springville, Utah. Rhoda Clyde and her family moved to a small farm at the top of Main Street in Provo (now 500 West) in late 1880 or early 1881.
According to Provo Cemetery records, Stella died of diptheria in Provo, at 4 1/2 years of age. She was originally buried in Block 3, lot 78, but was later moved to the family plot of her half-sister Emily M. Potter Warner, Block 4, lot 61.

*Unmarked grave in Provo City Cememtary
