History of Joseph Harker
"My father was the son of Amos Harker, who, after the death of his first wife, Mrs. Gilbert of Pointon, by whom he had six children, he married Mary Wade of Pointon who had three children by him. The names of the children of the first wife are as follows, viz; John, Amos, William, Jane, Frances, and Elizabeth, the last three died soon after they immerged into womanhood, and before marrying. Jane Harker was afterwards born, and married John Woods of Frankton, and raised six sons and five daughters. Those of the second wife are the following, viz; Thomas, Elizabeth Ann, and Mary. Thomas was killed in the battle of Waterloo, Elizabeth Ann married John Bailey of Holbech. Mary married John Green of Withamon the Hill, they had a large family of children. My grandfather, Amos Harker moved from Einton, Lincolnshire to Pointon as farmer ______ to Mrs. Gilbert whom he afterwards married."

--Is it possible that Joseph has combined the two families of Elizabeth Lenton as he did with Mary Wade? (Thomas Wade was 9 years old when Amos married his mother). Frances Gilbert died at the age of 30, unmarried. I have no Christenings for Frances Harker.

Footnotes
1  The calendar year during this time period was from Lady Day, March 25th
2  Although the burial of this Elizabeth Harker is generally regarded as the mother Elizabeth , I believe this is the death of a daughter, Elizabeth Harker as there is an infant named Jane buried in 1783, followed by the burial of another Elizabeth Harker in 1784. If Elizabeth the mother had died in April of 1781, Jane, who would have been born prior to that date, would no longer have been an infant two years and 4 months later.
